Going Vegan - Was it Worth It?

Yes! I actually did it! I completed the 21-day vegan challenge without throwing in the towel. What a journey it has been. I probably sound so dramatic but this is a big accomplishment for me. There were times when I was so tempted to ditch the diet but I pulled through. Being a full-time student with a busy schedule and going vegan was not easy, but if I could do it, so can you!


So, would I recommend going vegan?


YES! YES! YES! Even if it’s just for 21 days. That’s all you need.


Why?


Besides all the awesome benefits you get out of going vegan, you will learn to appreciate your body and become more aware of what you eat. From going vegan I’ve made better food choices and I’m slowly starting to enjoy eating wholesome meals that are healthy for my body. I use to love junk food but now, it almost taste like cardboard.

You will feel more energized and your skin will start looking so good! If you are having problems with your skin, I’d definitely recommend going on a plant-based diet to help your skin heal and improve from the inside. If you are constantly tired and weak, like I was, going vegan will be the best thing for you. I would take naps every afternoon because I was so tired. Now I have more time to do my school work and it’s all because of the food I was eating.

The one thing I did struggle with was planning and preparing meals because I didn’t have time. The truth is, you just have to make the time. If you want to feel good, you have to put in extra effort. It’s totally worth it because there’s no better feeling than waking up in the morning and feeling healthy and good on the inside and outside too.

Will I continue being vegan?

No. I’ve decided to go vegetarian for now, which means I will still be cutting out meat from my diet. I just can’t live without my tea with milk. I will however, continue to make healthy food choices and try my best to not eat junk food anymore.
